LIGHTER RING

A firelighter your turn on by a finger-snapping

Created as part of the first year in industrial design studies.

Snapping fingers is the act of creating a clicking sound with one or more fingers.

Primarily this is done by building tension between the thumb and another finger and then moving the other finger forcefully downward so it hits the palm of the same hand at a high speed and makes a clicking sound by the hit.

On this project, I designed a firelighter which works on the same principle of building a tension and release it quick.

I designed a ring that was worn on the thumb and a set of rings to wear on the other fingers.

The thumb ring has a place to put five matches sticks and the fingers ring set had the coarse striking surface for the lightning action.

To make a frictional heat generated by striking the match against a suitable surface just wear the rings on your fingers and snap them to make some fire.
